


Katie Kirlin traded in her Air Jordans for a pair of cleats this fall to become a key member of the soccer team. The junior midfielder played in all 10 matches this season and started eight times. Kirlin picked up her first career point at Goucher in a 3-1 non-conference victory. She had an assist on the first Shorewomen goal by Megan Russell at the 21:37 mark of the first half. The goal erased a 1-0 Goucher lead, and the Shorewomen added two more goals to win. The West Chester, PA, native was a three-sport start at Villa Maria Academy.
Tim Kerr was one of just 58 student-athletes across the nation to be awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship last spring. A history major now teaching at Kent Island High School, Kerr was also a USILA Scholar All-American. The Pasadena, MD, native was a two-time Centennial Conference first team selection and an All-American honorable mention pick as a senior. He scored four goals and chipped in with two assists in 2006. Kerr led the squad with 87 ground balls and committed just two penalties. The longstick midfielder was a main cog in a defensive unit that allowed just 5.95 goals per game, which was second best in Division III. The Shoremen held their opponents to fewer than 10 goals on 18 of 19 occasions.
Conner Blouin, a freshman skipper, had an immediate impact in the first month of the 2006 sailing season. Teaming up with junior crew Alexandria Starks, Blouin recorded first-place divisional finishes in his first two collegiate regattas. He and Starks won A Division at the OCC Final Open and captured B at the Riley Cup. Blouin won his first collegiate race at the Riley Cup, hosted by Old Dominion. At the Senator's Cup, he was WC's top finisher in the Division. native of Tampa, FL, Blouin came to WC with solid sailing credentials: he had won the Junior Olympic Festival.
