Four pairs of sibling Sho'men swimmers bring new meaning the concept of team as family. Courtney and Krista Jensen, Liz and Kimber Shoemaker, Colin and Chris Soper, and Alex and Thomas chose to swim and study together.
"I think the uniqueness of our sport has helped promote a family atmosphere," says head coach Kim Lessard. "The men and women train, travel and compete together. Swimming families tend a close group; with all those years of long swim meets road trips, the parents tend to be very involved and continue to attend most meets. It sure makes it easier on parents to have them in same place."
Courtney Jensen, one of the team's top distance performers, says it speaks volumes about the caliber of swim program and about "There aren't many teams that can say they have four sets of siblings. Washington College must be doing something right."
