New Trustees Are Tapped

Meredith McRoberts Olt, head of a security firm; Benjamin Kohl, professor emeritus at Vassar College; and Beth Kahn Leaman '73, a healthcare business executive, will join the College's Board of Visitors and Governors, beginning July 1.

As CEO of McRoberts Protective Agency, Inc., Olt directs the nation's oldest established family-held security firm, founded in 1876. A licensed private investigator, she has served as director of the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey and maintains numerous professional affiliations in the field of maritime and industrial security. Olt and her husband, sculptor Frank Olt, live in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, where they have been active in historic preservation and the arts.

A native of Delaware, Kohl retired from teaching in 1998 and now directs The Hedgelawn Foundation, a charitable trust dedicated to the promotion of the humanities, historical research and preservation, and the visual and performing arts. Kohl and his wife, Judy, live in Betterton, MD, where he gives his time to several community organizations, including the College's Friends of Miller Library.

Leaman, elected to the Board by the Alumni Association, was recently appointed vice president of health and welfare business processes for Automatic Data Processing (ADP) after serving as the manager of one of ADP's six regional health and welfare outsourcing offi ces in Rockville, MD. Active in the College's 1782 Society, she has also served as a member of the Visiting Committee, as 30th Reunion co-chair and as Class Agent for the Class of 1973, raising more than $40,000 to sponsor a classroom in the new John Toll Science Building. She was co-chair of The Washington Fund last year.

Trustees Ralph Snyderman, M.D. '61 and Thomas "Tuck" Maddux have been reappointed to six-year terms. At the time of publication, the nomination of John Gregory Eckenrode P'08 had been submitted to Governor Robert Ehrlich for fi nal approval.
