Daniel W. Ingersoll '33 died December 11, 2005 in Chestertown, MD. Upon graduation, Dan operated Silver Hill Farm, a family property. In the late 1940s, he opened Silver Hill Shop, a marine and small motors business. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clare "Pat" Stevens Ingersoll '71, and his brother, H. Gilbert Ingersoll '35. His widow is the 1998 recipient of the Alumni Service Award and a former College trustee.

John T. Bruehl, Jr. '34 died January 22, 2006 in Berlin, MD. John taught industrial arts in the Worcester County school system and served on the Worcester County Retired Teachers Association. He was a member of the Evergreen Masonic Temple and the Berlin Chamber of Commerce. He was named Berlin's Citizen of the Year in 1997.

Bertha Foulk Ferguson '35 died September 18, 2005 in Lancaster, PA.

John Hoppe, Jr. '40 died October 17, 2005 in Chesterfield, VA. He was an assistant professor of mathematics at William and Mary.

John Selby '41 died October 12, 2005 in Baltimore, MD. As an undergraduate, John was president of the SGA and a member of ODK. He helped his teammates win the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League championship three years in a row.

After graduation, John worked at the Glenn Martin plant where he was supervisor of planning and scheduling. He left in 1947 to begin his teaching and counseling career at Centreville High School and Queen Anne's County High School. At Queen Anne's, he initiated college night, career day and established the National Honor Society. He also compiled a 187-37 record as the baseball coach and won three state championships at Centreville High School in soccer. John was inducted into the Washington College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990, the Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame. He also helped to establish the Queen Anne's County Parks and Recreation. After retiring in 1983, John went on to scout for the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Athletics. He was known to thousands of beachbound vacationers as "Farmer John," selling fresh produce at a stand for over 50 years.

Helen Claire Cregar Fleetwood '44 died October 18, 2005 in Chestertown, MD. Mrs. Fleetwood received a bachelor of arts in English and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was also active with the Chester River Yacht and Country Club and Christ United Methodist Church. Her husband, Robert '33, and her grandson, R. Cregar Fleetwood Jr. '03, survive her.

Ellen Boiko Ruark '45, of Southbury, CT, passed away February 11, 2006, after a brief illness. Her husband, Paul Ruark '43, died several years ago. She is survived by a son, Eric Ruark '71.

Mary Steele Knight '51 died August 3, 2005 in Martha's Vineyard, MA. Mary completed her college education at Cornell. She lived most of her life in College Park, MD, where her husband was on the University of Maryland faculty. She is survived by her sister, Minor Steele Kelley '42, and her brother, Col. Maurice Steele '48.

George W. Dulany '54 died October 16, 2005 in Frederick, MD. George served as a pilot in WWII and continued to fly his own plane. He owned Dulany Insurance Agency and was a licensed insurance broker.

Reverend David S. Remington '60 died September 28, 2005 in Kingsville, MD. Rev. Remington received a bachelor of divinity from the University of the South in 1963. He was vicar of Holy Evangelists in Baltimore and served for 34 years as rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Kingsville.

Ormond "Bud" Andrew, Jr. '63 died October 12, 2005 of a heart attack in Lewes, DE. At WC, Bud was a member of the KA fraternity, recipient of the Gold Pentagon Award and a member of ODK. Bud attended Peabody Institute of Music and received a master's degree in music from the University of Maryland. He returned to WC to serve as the director of admissions and was also the assistant director of admissions for the George Washington University in Washington, DC. After moving to Lewes, he was assistant manager of the New Devon Inn. He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians and the American Guild of Organists of Southern Delaware. At WC, he belonged to The 1782 Society and The George Washington Society.

Barbara Nurenberg Relyea '74 M'84 died November 13, 2005 after a battle with cancer. Barbara was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and earned a master's degree in history. She taught history for many years in the Elkton School District and later worked at Consumer Credit Counseling Services in Cortland, NY.
