Council Calls For Nominations

The Alumni Council is accepting nominations for the Alumni Citation for Excellence and for the Alumni Service Award.

The Alumni Citation is presented at Commencement to an alumnus who has made a significant contribution to, or accomplishment in, his or her field of endeavor or in community or public service. Any alumnus, as defined by the constitution, is eligible to receive the citation, with the exception of present faculty members, present Board members, Executive Officers of the Alumni Association or members of the Nominations Committee. Any alumnus may present names of individuals he or she considers worthy.

The Alumni Service Award is given each February to an alumnus who has given outstanding and continued support to the College. Recipients enthusiastically participate in the life of Washington College through personal involvement on leadership committees and engaging with the student body and fellow alumni. Their selfless commitment of time and talent is augmented by their willingness to enhance the financial welfare of the College.

Nominations may be made by any person or group affiliated with Washington College, including students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Nominations for the 2007 awards are due June 15, 2006. Biographical information for nominees should be directed to Judie Berry, Interim Director of Alumni Relations, Washington College, 300 Washington Avenue, Chestertown, MD 21620, or at jberry4@washcoll.edu.
